“Before the miles, before the mountains, before the fear and freedom of going alone, there was simply the quiet realization that I could no longer stay where I was.”

— Deb Hazlett

Deb Hazlett spent much of her life doing what was expected of her—working hard to provide for her family, raising her children, and caring for her parents through the end of their lives. At sixty-five, she sold nearly everything she owned and set out alone to travel across the United States.

What began as a physical journey gradually became something more personal: a growing trust in herself, her instincts, and the life she wanted to live. Those experiences became the foundation for Before Tomorrow, a memoir about resilience, freedom, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again.

Now at work on her upcoming novel, Where the Roots Hold, Hazlett continues to write about resilience, connection, and the ways people endure through change.
